I prayed with her for a couple of seconds, and asked her if she had the Holy Ghost. She said that she did not, and that she wanted it. So, I began to talk to her, helping her, and she began to pray. She got really close to speaking in other tongues (another language) but stopped. She looked at me and said, “I can't do this.” I asked her, “Why not?” She said she didn't feel worthy of the Holy Ghost because of her past. I told her that if she asked for forgiveness, God would forgive her. So she did and began praying again. Once again she stopped and said that she still didn't feel worthy. So I told her that I wasn’t worthy either. I don't deserve the gift of the Holy Ghost. None of us do. We don't deserve His mercy, grace or love. We didn’t deserve His death on a cross for us. He did it because he loves us. The Holy Ghost is His gift to us. God didn't say that only the best people can have The Holy Ghost.
He said that anyone can receive it! (Acts 2:38-29) And when we ask for forgiveness, He forgives us! By this time the woman was crying. Once again, I asked her if she wanted the Holy Ghost. She said, “Yes,” and began praying. Within 10 seconds she’d received the Holy Ghost and was speaking in tongues! When she realized the miracle she’d experienced, she began to cry and I cried with her, because it was a beautiful thing. None of us deserve the love of Jesus Christ. We love Him because He loved us first, and "love covers a multitude of sin.” (1 Peter 4:8)
